You can feel growth equal to the
amount of work you put in
Q Why joining STS?
My grandfather used to run a factory, so I spent my childhood feeling close to the manufacturing industry. I previously worked as a teacher, but I really wanted to try my hand at a general company, so I decided to join Segawa Tool Service, which supports a wide range of manufacturing industries through Cutting Tools.
Q Duties
Cutting Tools are the defining product of our company, and I work on selling them to a variety of customers in the fields of medicine, automobiles, aircraft, and more. In addition to our regular customers, I’m also currently developing new customers by actively participating in exhibitions held across the country.
Interview
Q Points I pay special attention to in my duties (Sales)
Many of our customers are regularly quite busy, so if there is time for a meeting, etc., I am striving to interview them regularly so we can find points effectively that contribute to business improvements in a short amount of time. To that end, I always try to have at least the minimum level of knowledge regarding the manufacturing industry so that I can have an overall picture of the customer’s work.
Q Job satisfaction
It’s been five years since I joined the company, and I’ve been given various discretionary responsibilities as a section manager. I have more new colleagues and I feel the company is growing on a daily basis.
Q How I’ve grown since joining the company
I used to focus more on speaking myself, but as I listen to customers in my sales duties, I began to pay more attention to what others have to say. Even in my private life, I started listening more closely to what my family has to say, and I think it has had a positive impact on my daily life.
Interview
Q How is transportation access?
The location is very easy to access from Saitama where I live. Commuting without stress is an attractive point.
Q What kind of person is right for the company?
I think this company is suitable for people who can see things positively and work with a positive mindset. This is a company where you can feel growth based on the effort you put in, and I look forward to working with you!

Immerse yourself in detailed work,
so you never get bored
Q Why joining STS?
When I was thinking about changing jobs, an opening at Segawa Tool Service caught my eye. Having piqued my interest, I went to the company and had a tour. I was quite attracted to the cheerful atmosphere of the employees and the work that provided a sense of accomplishment on a daily basis, so I decided to join.
Q Duties
The two main types of work are manufacturing new Cutting Tools and regrinding Cutting Tools that have already been used by customers. Both are challenging in their own ways, and each operator takes pride in their work.
Interview
Q Points I pay special attention to
In order to make Cutting Tools that satisfy customers, each operator carefully manufactures each Cutting Tool on a piece-by-piece basis. We take great care to ensure that there are no defects in dimensions or appearance.
Interview
Q Job satisfaction
This is my fifth year with the company, but I still have a lot to learn and I am working on my studies every day. Under such circumstances, I find it quite rewarding when I can do something I wasn’t able to do before, or when I’ve first become able to make a Cutting Tool with a difficult shape.
Q How I’ve grown since joining the company
My previous job was completely different, so I didn’t know anything about Cutting Tools when I joined the company. However, I learned about Cutting Tools little by little through the guidance of my seniors and daily work, and now I can make tools from scratch by myself.
Interview
Q The appeal of STS
We manufacture Cutting Tools from scratch to meet customer requirements, so you can immerse yourself in detailed work without getting stuck in a rut. It is also easy to take time off, which is another appealing point.
Q What kind of person is right for the company?
I think this job is suitable for those who can attempt things with a positive mindset and don’t give up even if they fail. There’s a lot to learn in the beginning, and there will be a lot of mistakes and things that don’t go well. But if you don’t give up and keep going, I think it will lead to results.
